Sajek Valley, the kingdom of clouds, is in Rangamati district but is reached via Khagrachari. It is the best place to see hills and clouds on a small budget.

How to get there

Take a night bus from Dhaka to Khagrachari, then a jeep (Chander Gari) or CNG to Sajek. You must follow the fixed army escort times.

Tips

  • Wake up early to watch the clouds from the helipad or Konglak Hill
  • Book your resort in advance on holidays
  • Carry cash – the network is weak in places
  • Respect local people and nature; don’t leave plastic behind
